BOSTON - Jewish Federation of the North Shore Board Member Helaine Hazlett presented a Legislative Achievement Award to State Senator Frederick E. Berry (D-Peabody) at a ceremony at the Boston Bar Association on Jan. 23.

This was the sixth annual Jewish Community Legislative Reception, jointly sponsored by the Massachusetts Association of Jewish Federations and the Jewish Community Relations Council. Other legislators, executive branch officials and legislative staff honored included Senator Jo Ann Sprague (R-Walpole); Representatives Brian Golden (D-Boston), Marie St. Fleur (D-Boston) and Martin Walsh (D-Boston); Department of Mental Retardation Commissioner Gerald Morrissey, Jr. and outgoing Department of Mental Health Commissioner Marylou Sudders; and State House staffers Dorothy Conway, legislative director to Senate President Robert Travaglini, and John Stefanani, chief counsel to House Speaker Tomas Finneran.
