Senator Berry earns union endorsement

The Massachusetts AFL-CIO recently announced its endorsement of Senator Frederick E. Berry (D-Peabody.) The Massachusetts American Federation of Labor (AFL) and Congress of Industrial Unions (CIO), is a labor organization for more than 750 local unions and bodies.

To be eligible for AFL-CIO endorsement, a legislator must have a labor voting record of at least 75%. Currently, Senator Berry's record is an 84%.

"I am very proud of this endorsement," said Senator Berry. "It has always been a high priority of mine to make the Commonwealth a better place to work and live for the working families in the Commonwealth."

"Senator Fred Berry has been a consistent and thoughtful voice for working people," Massachusetts AFL-CIO President Robert J. Haynes said.

"He is committed to quality education, affordable and accessible health care and the creation of good jobs."

The Massachusetts AFL-CIO is the umbrella organization for labor unions in the state and the voice of 400,000 working men and women in the Commonwealth.
