North Shore Lawmakers File Legislation in Response to Toll Proposal
North Shore lawmakers are joining together to oppose the recent push to increase tolls for North Shore residents by filing legislation that would freeze toll increases.
Senator Berry has signed on to legislation filed by Representative Steven Walsh of Lynn that would take away the authority of the board to revise toll rates until either December 31, 2009 or until a comprehensive transportation plan is passed, whichever is sooner. That will allow the legislature to reconvene in January and deliberate on a more equitable solution to the Commonwealth’s transportation debt.
